This is a small standalone plug-in module that provides all the sounds of General MIDI. More details of this product are available in the Classic MIDI Works area of this site.
Description
The Atmel SAM9773 single-chip synthesizer is the heart of the GM9773. This powerful chip contains a synthesizer, reverb, chorus , MIDI control processor, GM-MIDI wave tables, spatial sound effects and stereo equalizers. With 38-voice polyphony, the sound set contains the standard GM-MIDI set, a second bank of variations and five drumsets. All of these are accessible by control codes in the MIDI signal.
Pleasant sound quality is achieved by use of on-board electronics. Included is a digital-to-analog converter which converts digital data into stereo audio output. Various filters remove noise from power supplies and high frequency components of the signals.
At Classic Organ Works, the GM9773 is an optional plug-in addition to our MIDI Control Unit (MCU) and Console Control Computer (CCC-5).

Applications
The GM9773 General MIDI sound module is perfect for situations requiring a multitude of functions and a compact size. As a compact circuit board (only 2" square), the GM9773 is used to provide integral MIDI sounds to both the Classic MIDI Control Unit (MCU) and the Console Control Computer (CCC).
The use of the GM9773 can be extended to computer MIDI users as well. WaveBlaster headers are present on most computer sound cards to improve the quality of MIDI sounds generated. The GM9773 has a combination of compact size, abundant functionality and a WaveBlaster connector to allow users to inexpensively and conveniently upgrade MIDI sounds on their computer.
