  • Description

MIDIjet Pro long range wireless MIDI adapter replaces cables in situations where cables restrict performer mobility, are visually unpleasant, or awkward to connect.

In live performance environments, MIDIjet liberates a stage floor of MIDI cable clutter. It is also ideal for connecting music equipment in home studios, where hiding cables can be aesthetically important in a multi-purpose room.

    Use MIDIjet Pro with:

    • Wind controllers such as the MIDI EVI and EWI from Nyle Steiner or the WX-5 from Yamaha

    • Zendrum MIDI controllers

    • Portable Keyboards such as the Roland AX-7

    • MIDI Control Surfaces

    • Player pianos with MIDI capability, such as Yamaha's Disklavier and others with the PianoDisc system

Two adapters are included in every kit. As easy to use as standard cables, all that’s required is to connect an adapter at both ends of your gear – such as one adapter on a keyboard, the second on a sound module. Up to 31 MIDI connections can be made in the same environment using unique radio channels, selectable via switches. Powered by either 2 ‘AA’ alkaline batteries or a DC adapter, it is well suited to both live event and studio environments.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need two wireless kits for my setup?

The rule of thumb is that you need 1 kit for every MIDI cable you intend to replace. If you are connecting a MIDI keyboard wirelessly for use on a stage, or just wanting to remotely drive a player piano or organ, 1 kit is sufficient.

If you are using MIDI to sequence and play back a synthesizer, or for two-way control - anywhere two MIDI cables are required, you will need two kits.

Do I need an extra power supply?

As many musicians are using our devices on stage, most opt to power the transmitter with batteries, and the receiver with the included power supply.

If you are connecting two stationary devices, such as two organs, an organ to remote pipes, or a piano to a PC, you may want to order an additional power supply - please inquire at the time of your order. Alternatively, suitable power supplies are available at local electronics stores such as Radio Shack.

Can I use multiple MIDIjet Pro wireless MIDI systems on the same stage?

Yes. Up to 31 devices can be used in the same environment.

Can I broadcast MIDI to multiple receivers in different locations?

No. Each MIDIjet Pro transmitter will only communicate with a single MIDIjet Pro Receiver. You cannot have 1 transmitter sending to 2 receivers. MIDIjet Pro uses a two-way protocol - the transmitter and receiver are constantly exchanging status information. Furthermore, a transmitter is "bound" to a single receiver - see the user's manual for further details.

I don't live in North America - will the receiver's power supply work where I live?

For international shipments, a universal power supply is included. The universal power supply will accept 100-240V at 47-63 Hz, and includes 4 plug adapters - types A, C, G and I (more details at kropla.com).

Why did an organ company develop a wireless MIDI system?

Classic Organ Works has been at the forefront of organ electronics since its inception in 1976. Best known for its pipe organ control systems, Classic Organ Works has long been a member of the MIDI Manufacturer's Association.

In the early stages of the development of a pipe organ tuning aid for its control system, the need for a wireless remote control was identified. A wide range of uses was identified for a wireless MIDI interface, so the decision was made to go ahead with development, and the rest is history! Our first wireless device was launched in October 2004. Ever since, musicians and technicians everywhere have been using our products for additional freedom on stage or to replace long and awkward cables.
